Olivia Shields, also referred to as “Artistryby.Liv”, is a 20-year old, self-taught artist who specializes in bringing to life different illustrations and imagination by turning them into a makeup look.
“I started sfx basically when I was 9 or 10… I was always fascinated with how makeup artists would make wounds in horror movies,” Artistry states, “I’ve always loved horror movies and the feeling of being on your toes… I wanted to learn how to make my own sfx, so I simply asked my mom to get me my first cut and scar kit from Ben Nye… I had no idea what I was doing, but I think that’s what made it fun.”
“This look holds a really special place in my heart,” Artistry says, “Yeah, it is very splotchy, lacks a large amount of potential detail and is just littered with blood, but it was really the first big look I ever did and I even recorded all 3 hours of it… The inspiration came from a lot of Five Nights of Freddy’s fanart that I would look at but with my own twist. I scared so many people when I actually posted it, and it made me feel a little insecure but it didn’t stop me from creating looks in private.”
